Answers to the 1999 World Cup Cricket Quiz

My apologies for an error which crept in into one of the questions in this quiz. In question no.2, that should have been not the 20th but the 21st over. Actually i copied that extract directly from Cricinfo.com, and the error there got transferred here - I should have verified it further. Sorry guys. Here are the answers:

q.1 Yes, that’s a Bangladesh postage stamp. (there were 3 clues: the Green Flag, the Bengali script and a very small part of the tiger’s face visible on the ball)

q.2 Fill up the blanks.

With Wasim Akram and Azhar Mahmood acting out the role of the orchestra on the Titanic, playing on valiantly as the ship went down, Mark Waugh and Darren Lehmann began to pick off the remaining runs at will, with Lehmann driving pleasantly through the covers to leave Australia needing under ten for victory........ A ridiculous pitch invasion by some Pakistani fans was fortunately dealt with quickly and Darren Lehmann thrashed Saqlain Mushtaq's 1st ball of the 20th over to the point boundary to post the winning runs for Australia and a well deserved, if thoroughly anti-climactic victory.

q.3 Lance Klusener ( Ridley Jacobs and Tom Moody were the other two)

q.4 England, Scotland, Ireland and the Netherlands

q.5 Shane Warne and Geoff Allott were the joint highest wicket takers in the 1999 World Cup. (20 apiece)
