In question no.2, that should have been not the 20th but the 21st over. Actually i copied that extract directly from Cricinfo.com, and the error there got transferred here - I should have verified it further. Sorry guys. Here are the answers:</span><br /></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;font-size:85%;"></span></div><div align="justify"><br /></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;font-size:85%;">q.1 Yes, that’s a Bangladesh postage stamp. Five players who played in the 1992 Cup can be seen in action in the current World Cup - Tendulkar, Jayasuriya, Lara, Inzamam and <span style="color:#cc0000;"><strong>Anderson Cummins.</strong></span></span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;"></span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;">2. India needed 4 runs to win off the last ball in their rain-rule affected match against Australia. Tom Moody was the bowler and Srinath's mighty heave left no one in doubt that it was going to be a six - so much so that the batsmen didn't bother running, for a while at least. A strong wind blowing in the opposite direction was a possible reason why the ball's trajectory was shortened beyond expectation, and Steve Waugh had an easy catch to complete. Unfortunately he dropped the catch, but fired a throw from the boundary. Not the best directed throw, the keeper David Boon standing in place of the regular wicket keeper had to make an effort before he ran the batsman out(Venkatpathy Raju). Had the batsmen ran without bothering to admire the beauty of the shot, the 3rd run could well have been completed, but it was not to be and India, twice in two World Cups, lost to Australia by the narrowest margin of 1 run.</span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;"></span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;">Can't blame Border for making that comment, can you?!</span></div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;"></span> </div><div align="justify"><span style="font-family:arial;">3. Australia finish second.</div><div align="justify">Group B - Larger countries beat small countries. So India & Pakistan shoould have qualified, because there are 3 countries from the Indian subcontinent and the 4th one Bermuda is anyways the smallest. But it's mentioned that Pakistan is not one of the teams to qualify so it implies Pakistan was not a part of Group B. Hence India and Sri Lanka qualify, with India on top and Lanka second.</div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">The super eight match we are talking about is supposed to be between A1 and B2. So it should have been SA vs Lanka. But that's where the catch is:</div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">The new rule for the Super Eight stage is more than a little weird - If Australia & SA both qualify, Australia will be treated as A1 and SA as A2 irrespective of who finishes first, because Australia is ranked higher in the ICC ratings. </div><div align="justify"> </div><div align="justify">By the logic of this new ICC rule for the Super Eight stage, the answer becomes <strong>India vs Australia</strong></div><div align="justify"><strong></strong> </div><div align="justify"><strong>****</strong></div><div align="justify"><a href="http://cricketplusnews.blogspot.com"><strong>Though I have discussed about this weird super-eight rule in my main cricket blog as well, beyond a point even i have not understood it. </strong></a>The official ICC site goes on to say that if Scotland qualifies instead of Australia, then Scotland will be A1.
